Perceptions of the Modern Army Combative Program.
I am a huge fan of MACP. I have completed Level 1 and am slotted for Level 2 as soon as possible after returning.
They have added several new tactics in it that are worth their weight in gold. They include movements and drills in full combat gear, weapon, IOTV, helmet, the whole kit and kaboodle. They can literally be the difference between life and death.
As for the unnecssary injury thing, if it is being conducted by a well versed instructor, in a safe location, the potential for injury is low. The drills are well designed, and you need to remember to "tap out". No shame in it. They have you beat, tap out, it prevents injuries.
Did I get injuried in Level 1? You bet I did, nothing serious though. Bumps, bruises, a little tenderness, nothing that is dangerous to your overall health. But, it is fun, so much fun. You will enjoy the class, and if it taught by someone who knows what they are doing, you'll have a good time.
