It seems as though our leaders think the majority of Americans are ignorant imbeciles. On Thursday May 29, 2014 Congress (remember Republicans "own Congress?") The United States House passed a seemingly innocuous funding bill -- H.R. 4660 The commerce, Justice, Science and related Agencies Appropriations Act of 2015. However at the very last minute, outspokenly anti-gun Republican Peter King (R-NY Go figure) offered House amendment 704 with Michael Thompson (D-CA) Under this amendment, funding for Eric Holder's NICS "background check" and gun registration system was increased by a whopping $19.5 million. This is why we need to force our so called "leaders" into changing the way we/they do business. One bill with nothing attached whatsoever. Remember the "great and intelligent Nancy Pelosi statement" "we have to pass the bill so that you can find out what's in it." If that didn't shake any trees what will?

Hmmm maybe the majority are ignorant imbeciles or maybe they have become too lazy and complacent!!! God help us!

"I believe there are more instances of the abridgement of the freedom of the people by the gradual and silent encroachment of those in power, than by violent and sudden usurpation." - President James Madison (1751-1836) speech, Virginia Convention, 1788

"Congress have no power to disarm the militia. Their swords, and every other terrible implement of the soldier, are the birthright of an American... The unlimited power of the sword is not in the hands of either the federal or state government, but, where I trust in God it will ever remain, in the hands of the people" (Tench Coxe, Pennsylvania Gazette, Feb. 20, 1788)

"What, Sir, is the use of a militia? It is to prevent the establishment of a standing army, the bane of liberty.... Whenever Governments mean to invade the rights and liberties of the people, they always attempt to destroy the militia, in order to raise an army upon their ruins." - (Rep. Elbridge Gerry of Massachusetts, spoken during floor debate over the Second Amendment, Annals of Congress, August 17, 1789)

"...to disarm the people - that was the best and most effectual way to enslave them." - George Mason, 3 Elliot, Debates at 380

"Now more than ever before, the people are responsible for the character of their Congress. If that body be ignorant, reckless and corrupt, it is because the people tolerate ignorance, recklessness and corruption. If it be intelligent, brave and pure, it is because the people demand these high qualities to represent them in the national legislature.... If the next centennial does not find us a great nation ... it will be because those who represent the enterprise, the culture, and the morality of the nation do not aid in controlling the political forces." James Garfield, the twentieth president of the United States, 1877

Thank you for the quotes brother, but most Americans don't even know who Madison, Coxe or Gerry is, let alone what the constitution means or says, we are in for one helluva downward slide soon unless Americans wake up... and I do not see that happening. Politically correctness is suffocating us!
