SCPO David Lockwood, I object to calling the casualties victims. Victims are generally helpless, these were military personnel who came under hostile fire.

1LT William Clardy while I support your right to your objection, Webster's defines a victim as: a person who has been attacked, injured, robbed, or killed by someone else. Whether in a civilian law enforcement uniform or a military uniform, I wouldn't like to be thought of as a victim but it is the reality of it...especially given these particular service members were not afforded the opportunity to defend themselves.

1SG (Join to see), there is some (admittedly still inconclusive) evidence that at least one of the Marines may have returned fire, albeit with a personal weapon instead of an issue one.
