I found this news very promising. I have absolutely nothing to do with this company.
RevMedx XStats are being deployed to US Military Medics to stop high-flow arterial bleeding from non-compressible gunshot and shrapnel wounds on the battlefield.

My Corpsman in Fallujah had a similar item...they started using Tampons to stop bleeding for atrial gun shot wounds. I know of at least 5 Marines whos lives were saved because of them.
Awesome development. It has been amazing to watch the progression of treatment for GSWs. Example, the Marshals Service now carries full on trauma kits and TKs with each member. Go back even 7 years ago and this was unheard of. Will be very interested in seeing how the RevMedx XStats will work out and how long before they will make their way to the field and then into the hands of First Responders and LEOs.

I have heard from other Marine colleagues Tampons are in common use for this application. Someone should give a prize to the person who discovered and propagated this battlefield lifesaver.
Do any specific tampons work best?
Warmest Regards, Sandy
