Just start talking to an AF recruiter. They will more than likely ask for all kinds of documents, and when they have what they need, all then that is needed doing is getting a Conditional Release signed by your CoC, then processed. Once all the approving signatures are done and all the red tape is crossed, it is AF bound for you.

USAF is real picky when it comes to taking prior service Army. So hopefully you have either really high ASVAB scores or a corresponding MOS that they are looking for.

Talk with your supervisor, 1st Shirt and Commander prior to submitting the request for release. Are you do this due to a financial, medical need etc. have the reasons why you want to do this in your mind prior to talking with your command. Make sure you are medically and physical fit to go - no profiles etc. Are you current in your training, what is the manning for your MOS in the guard, if it is undermanned, that might hurt your ability to leave prior to your ETS. Are you looking to retrain, stay in the same MOS on AD - check to see what the AD manning is - remember we are in a budget situation right now and the number of troops are still being trimmed from all sides of the service. Once you have they questions answered then go to your command and discuss what your options are at this time. Once they sign off, then you can start working with the recruiters to see what is available for you on AD. Good Luck.
