It is comments like these, when juxtaposed against the outstanding story in the Atlantic, that makes our approach to nations such as Egypt all the more baffling. In Egypt, President Sisi speaks clearly against the threat of Islamic Extremism, yet our State Department continues to dismiss him as they roll out the red carpet and host his rivals from the Islamic Brotherhood in Washington. Sisi expresses a strong desire to work with his neighbors, including Israel, to defeat the spread of this threat, yet he is clearly not the Administration's preferred man in Egypt, and communicate this clearly in the disrespectful manner in which they deal with him. I fear we as a nation are letting a golden opportunity slip past by ignoring President Sisi.

We so desperately need our leaders like GEN Mattis. If only we could unleash a Combatant Commander like him on ISIS today, we would show the world the paper tiger that ISIS truly is. This Soldier desperately misses GEN Mattis's leadership!
