Good question. I believe there may be a good bit of merit in your proposal that one can 'burn out' on RP. It is very easy to get drawn in to some of the discussions to the point where you are constantly checking to see if another comment has been posted (especially those topics you feel strongly about) and that will, in time, wear you down.
I think a lot if it is that the 'newness' has started to wear off now and things are beginning to settle down a bit. When the discussions were new, people were asking a lot of serious (and not so serious questions)... then I think we went through a phase where people were just trying to think of things to ask just to keep things 'fresh' and that has begun to pass as well.
Perhaps we're just now 'stabilizing', rather than experiencing an epidemic of RP Burnout.

I think this is what happened to me. I was all about RP and always on it and posting all the time, but I have slowed down recently and did not even check the site for about two weeks. I just started back up again yesterday.

Yes most definitely. You get involved in so many conversations that you forgot what you were saying to who and then you get a response from something you posted 2 months ago and you're like, "did I actually say that"?

SFC A.M. Drake I agree with MSGWade Huffman I think for some people the freshness wears off. Others do not enjoy debate if they disagree. Some get tired of seeing people just throwing up anything to get a response. I posted something I thought would be a good topic "Since the Army is getting a new side arm what would you pick & why" I think it got one response. So I just comment on other's .questions. I enjoy RP because I found Facebook to be dilly & aggravating. I don't want to read about everything you do in a day.I like stimulating conversation & there are a lot more people I can understand & connect with on RP.

I think I'll take a well-deserved RP break for now. Ok I'm back. What did I miss?
