Is there any repercussion if I stop going to drill for the reserves?

I got out of active and a year later decided to try the reserves. They are not helping with my disabilities from active and want me to take a pt test. I talked to the unit administrator and about getting out because of this and work making it difficult to get the time off as reasons. She said I would have to start a med board but refused to send me anything to get started for that. Overall is there a way I can bypass my unit with a packet or can I just stop showing up? Will they change my honorable discharge to and dishonorable if I stop reporting?

I'll echo what everyone else is saying...keep showing up to drill. In my reserve unit, my buddy (an E-6) was going through medical stuff and nothing was getting solved. He stopped showing up and changed his number. He was put out with a general discharge and lost some benefits he had earned from his active-duty time.

and what I mean by that above is.. you cannot lose active duty benefits (if you received an honorable) during reserve time if you get a general or OTH discharge. it will only effect your reserves time. they cannot go back to the active duty time and take anything away.

If you are put out for UNSAT (9 U's) it depends on the unit, did you receive any bonus money etc. They can go to the IRS if DFAS wants and collect, why are they holding up a MED board, question is why did you not MED Board while on active??

I would start with a letter from my family doctor listing my medical issues. Take that to the military doctor and get your medical profile. In the Air Force you have to be deployable and you can't deploy if you are on an extended medical profile, or so I've heard. I retired in 2010 and that has changed since I retired. Good luck
