Is there a way to still get my reclass and not go to Korea?

I am currently a 31B in Fort Leonard Wood, for the last 9 months I have been trying to reclass to 46R. Just yesterday I was told I would be coming down on orders to Korea. Is there any way to avoid going to Korea and get my reclass to happen? I really want to be in this field and feel as though it is my best shot for professional development.

I have heard that the re-class process takes a little long...I have never done it, but that's what I heard. Now, if you're on orders to go to Korea, that's pretty much a done deal. I would embrace it and go to Korea, but also check with your Admin to know the status of your re-classification. Then again, what if you're able to re-class, and still go to Korea? That would be funny. Good luck!

Thank you for your input SSG, I will definitely stay on top of checking on updates. I personally have no issue going to Korea, I just would rather get my reclass and THEN go as a 46R than 31B.

Once you get orders your chances drop dramatically. Ask the status of your request and talk to the S1 shop or who ever is pushing your packet.

Just go to Korea. Your most likely going to go there sooner or latter might as well be now.
