I would hope so. In RI we have a very good program including a briefing and final out-processing. We even have a transition assistance team that keeps us in the loop on everything from VA and retirement benefit changes to reunions and obituaries.

I had a pre-retirement briefing as an M-day because of my 20 year letter, but I eventually retired as AGR.

So according to this PAO release, there's no mention about being AGR and only AGR's get retirement briefings. http://www.il.ngb.army.mil/pao/newsrelease.aspx?id=630

Usually there's a Transition Specialist and/or Retirement Services Specialist at the Soldier Support Center.

It does vary I guess for every G-1, some are civilian contractors(prior military or currently serving) and some are actually AGR or Technician slots. My AGR briefing only consisted of getting a packet from the AGR HRO section, filling out some paperwork and then making medical/admin appointments at my transition site.

Wow. I just went thru my AGR retirement brief. They covered everything from TSP, Medical, VA, VGLI, SBP etc. it was a good 4-5 hrs of information and Q/A. They also help you with info/websites you need to get to for the Retirement process. I just started mine (11 months and a wake up..lol). I'll be doing 90% of my Retirement stuff thru Ft Campbell.

You still have to go thru ACAP right? 6 months(180 days) from transition you can start the VA process for C&P exams, I got a feeling you're already registered on eBenefits. Good luck on your retirement though..

Yes. Counting down down days to the 180 mark to start that. I'm registered on any all sites. Def taking advantage of all that's being offered. They have def improved on the whole process.
