I am currently on order to Yongsan replacement in May. I do not have pin point orders and I start clearing in about 4 and a half months. I have yet to hear from a sponsor even though I have completed the sponsorship request form 3 months ago. Is it common practice not to hear from or get a sponsor from Korea?

I came to Korea and never got a response from a sponsor. my wife, dual military , got emailed back from her sponsor. It doesn't matter, you don't need one here, it's too easy.
I didn't have a sponsor and I have been here for 8 months, I'm more then fine , don't worry about it SSG

Usually you will receive an email from your gaining unit to give you an idea where you our will be going prior to arriving here on pen. If you manage to get an email from your gaining unit, they may assign someone to answer any questions you may have.

Sponsorship is definitely one of the programs that is broken in the Army, and is further hindered by the fact that Korea is generally a one year tour. It could be quite possible that your sponsor is not in theater yet. I do see that you are in the MI field, you can contact me on NIPR, and I can see if I can help you track down a sponsor.
