Solar flyer
The Solar PV Professional program offered by United States University in San Diego, CA has a placement rate over 95%. The tuition is most often covered by government agencies so qualified candidates have no out-of-pocket expenses. The same program will be available in Phoenix, AZ in April.

The closest is City University of Seattle. They ran a class on JBLM in December. Typically the training takes place in areas where the most jobs are open. Military bases are an exception since 50-60% of transitioning Service Members are will leave the state after their EAS/ETS date.

Is this for real? i live in Phoenix and im unemployed if this is real and not a sham i would be very interested. The reason i ask is several solar companies here in the valley have gone belly up in the last year. Is this attached to any particular company here in Phoenix like First solar?

Reply. I assure you this is no scam. The program was adopted by Brookline College and will be taught at their Tempe Campus. There are as many as 8 residential solar companies that have vetted the course and have agreed to interview the graduates. Robert Reynolds, Ret US Army Capt and former ESO is handling enrollments. He can be reached at [login to see] x 705.

Is there a market for that in Wisconsin? We get sun, but not that much sun compared to the southern states.

Wisconsin is not a hot market at present. Surprisingly, the sun doesn't play the biggest role. Big companies like SolarCity and Vivint tend to operate in states that have expensive power and good tax incentives.

Winter makes for short days and people would rather see an overcast than the sun appear in the sky. Overcast keeps the temp up.

Although I'm currently employed, this seems to be a great opportunity for others seeking employment. Alternative energy is a growing field. Thanks for sharing!

You're welcome John. The field is exploding and all of the companies I work with would hire a veteran over any other candidate. They are growing so rapidly and they can't find enough people willing to step into leadership roles. Some of these veterans are making 75-100k within 9-12 months.
