If I have use/lose days and will soon PCS, can my Commander refuse to approve my leave request that is longer than the block leave period?

I have 25 use/lose days, I requested 21 days of leave which is 5 days more than they’re giving us for block leave and my CDR said that it’s “excessive” and won’t approve it unless i give her a good enough reason too. Im just trying to see what leg i have to stand on, i PCS in August so there’s no training or anything that my leave is interfering with.

If you PCS in August, just take the additional days as party of your PCS leave.

PCS leave isn’t the same as block leave for a unit. If there is a block leave in the schedule that doesn’t mean you cNt take PCS leave when you leave the unit. You are mixing apples and oranges

First and foremost, understand that commanders can deny leave for whatever reason they want to. With that being said, usually, from my experiences, commanders and other leadership get hemmed up when a soldier loses leave days due to use or lose. While it's not the best situation to be in, just know that there will probably be some recourse if they do in fact make you lose the days.
If your commander won't let you take the days just because they're use or lose, your battalion commander surely has an open door policy -- assuming that the situation is just black and white and no other issues, your BN commander is likely to side with you.
