If Donald Trump is elected President, would it be more honorable to resign from service or to serve under his "leadership"?

MAJ Bryan Zeski - I've seen a lot of political biased posts on RP over the last two months due in large part to radical islamic extremism and Donald Trump. They say that perception is reality in the military. The perception of your question leads me to believe that you don't feel that Donald Trump is worthy of your service if he were to be elected president. That is a very immature outlook considering the vast majority of the current standing military are probably still serving in spite of the current POTUS. Essentially, I'm still serving while Obama is in office, you should still serve regardless of who gets elected next. As "Leader" in the military, maybe you should re-think your motivations. You should also review your contacts list and make sure you don't have anyone who falls under your direct leadership as a contact if you are going to let your personal feelings toward a specific president be known.

CW4 (Join to see) I haven't stated a personal feeling towards an elected President - simply a question about a candidate for President. I suppose you could argue that putting "leadership" in quotes could somehow be pejorative, but I think that'd be a stretch.
Every Soldier makes the decision with every enlistment or re-enlistment as to whether the leadership in place is "worthy" of their service.
Why you serve is up to you. Why I serve is up to me. Some people resign to take better paying positions elsewhere - some people resign because they are just done. Everyone has a reason - and as long as they did their job honorably and to the best of their ability while they were in, WHY they choose to resign doesn't change the characterization of their service. If I, or anyone else, chooses to resign because of leadership failures, it's not a blight on our service, it's just a decision people make.
Honestly, I consistently think about and re-think about my motivations for serving. If, at any point, I feel that my service is no longer honorable - either because of the leadership in place, or the state the country is in, or how the military is being used, or anything else - I will have no issue with giving my notice and calling it a day.

We all have different personal beliefs, however; per contractual agreements and oaths, it'd be a very bad decision career-wise.

Even though I am not Army I consider all of us servicemen/women as "soldiers to a cause". Whether I care for him or not, I'm bound by duty--nuff said.

You swear your oath to the constitution, right? What part of that says, "unless I disagree with the President's ideas or policies"? I'm surprised the poll shows 20% who claim they'd resign. Their bluff may be put to the test, and less than 1% would resign in Jan 2017 if it happened.

Trump is way better than what we have as President now. Does is really matter who is President if you really want to serve ?

If someone can serve under the worst president in history they should be able to suffer through a shot of Trump if he was to get elected (he won't).

Because Presidents of the past have been better "leaders." Most of the stuff he wants to do, probably won't happen.
