I hear folks saying things like I'd love to be a young man in today's world and maybe it's because I'm in my late 40's (I'm forty-eighteen, refused to turn 50) but I see this world and really wonder if the USA will still be a "WORLD POWER" when my grandsons (age 5 and age 1) get to be young men.
What do you see the world like when those boys graduate from high school?

If we as a nation fail to remove our collective heads from Rectal Defilade, I see a real crappy future for our children/grandchildren....we fail to protect our borders from illegal aliens, we continue to provide for far too many that are and should be providing for themselves, we are alienating some of our closest allies and we have grown week overall on the global stage...things need to change and fast IMO....

SGT Richard H. That is one of the reasons that I believe that we should have transitioned to a "Personal Retirement Account" whereby whatever I have paid in as far as taxes, goes directly into an account tied to my SSN.

SFC William Swartz Jr but then Congress and Senate couldn't get their hands on it! We would never want to deny them of our hard earned money now would we?

SGT Hanner, that is the true definition of "WE EARNED IT"
I did work all those hours and still do, but I may never see any of it coming my way... That is MY MONEY, I"m the one who earned it, but they get it and give it to folks who are not earning it in any way shape or form.

I ask myself this question all the time. In fact last night my wife and I were talking and she said
"We need to stay out of stuff in the world, we are no longer the world power, so let's stop being the world's police"
Great response!
I agree with SFC William Swartz Jr I see a sad future for my two boys.

I agree! Why in the hell are we giving aid to other countries to fix their problems when we have our own homeless, not to mention the disservice being done to our Veterans past and present.

This is a thought that crosses my mind often and as a young man, not yet 30, who is recently married and wants to start a family I fear for what my children will face. I already had a more difficult time making a career and being successful than my father did and I expect it to get worse for my children.
Its a sad place to be when you are not even 30 and you fear for your and your families future. Especially when you are a hard working go getter type.
