I've been assigned to Korea and have a report date of September...and have HAAP of Fort Bliss. Does this mean I have unaccompanied orders?

You can request a command sponsor tour before you PCS to Korea. Contact your reassignments branch and let them know you would like to go on an accompanied tour. They would let you know the necessary paperwork that had to be completed. To get a jumpstart yo can schedule your family for an EFMP Screening for an overseas assignment. The form you’ll need to take to that appointment is a DA Form 5888. The provider will complete and sign the form at the time of the Screening appointment. Once signed, take the phone back to reassignments and they will send the form to housing at the location you will be assigned to for approval. This usually take 5-7 working days to get a decision. If approved reassignments will amend your orders to reflect your family members information. Take the new orders to the passport office to apply for no-cost passports for your family... I hope this helps...

Believe that it means that after your 12 month tour you return to Fort you had haap from but maybe COL Mikel J. Burroughs will know more

I had a HAAP and came to Korea accompanied. One thing has nothing to do with another..
The only thing that can tell you if you have accompanied or unaccompanied orders is reading your orders... Also, if you want to bring your family, get started on your command sponsorship packet now.

Bringing your family to Korea! The Republic of Korea is a great place to serve and grow, personally and professionally, for both Soldiers and their Family members.
