I just got my E-6. Aside from initial, monthly, and quarterly counseling statements, what admin stuff do I need to know?

NCOERs: you will probably rate at least one SGT.
Learn how to write an NCOER and teach that SGT how to write an NCOER.
Enlisted Promotion System: every year in the Guard, good Soldiers who are eligible for consideration end up on the ineligible list because they don't know what they're doing,
Read your state G1's EPS MOI, and teach it to your Soldiers.

I agree. Writing and learning how to PROPERLY write an NCOER has been one of the toughest things to do in the Army. But once you get it down, it's second nature.

*SSG. You got promoted to SSG.
Do you mean for yourself? Or subordinates? I don't know how the Guard handles counselings - but NCOs are supposed to get counseled quarterly on the NCOER support form. You should have an initial counseling when you get a new rater/senior rater or move to a new unit. Generally SPC and below get counseled monthly.
