Regardless of how you feel about our current state of congress, I have to hand it to them. In case you have yet to hear congress agreed on the FY16 defense budget. To include (after testimonial from army and marines alike) keeping the A10 flying. Personally I'm a lover of this aircraft and her pilots, that sweet soothing sound that floods over you as she sings the song of her people. I'm very happy the move to keep her was made.
That said I have a dream.
With the Air Force trying so hard to railroad the old girl off their books, I suggest a solution. To shift ownership over the Army and Marine aviation and then furthermore allow those elusive majestic warrant officers to fly them. Oh the possibilities!
Anyway here is more details if you are interested.

This was totally my suggestion last year. Totally agree. I work on the rotary version of this tank killer and while I love my airframe, that brrrap is one of the sweetest sounds known to man

I absolutely agree the A10 is a needed asset to the Total Force arsenal.

Funny, our retention guys want me to become a warrant officer. If they take over the A-10 for us, I just might do that.
Honestly it would be the smartest most unilateral thing that they can do. Marines already have the infastructure necessary to support this fixed wing, or the AF is going to have give up some real estate and let the Army take over.
