How can I find a roommate or someone to rent from at Eglin AFB?

I am PCS’ing to Eglin AFB. (Going to 7th Group) Looking for a roommate or someone to rent from, any recommendations. I do not own pets.

Most of the people will be living in Fort Walton Beach or Crestview. 6th RTB has a FB site, you could probably ask on there as well.

Ask around the O Club and check the want ads in the Elgin Flyer, Hurlburt Patriot, Northwest Florida Daily News, Bay Beacon or the Walton Sun. All are local papers with the first two been the most likely to find military respondents. I lived there before I entered the Army and its great base. Good Luck

There are plenty of options. Remember you don't have to live on the beach...would be nice but don't have to. The further inland you go the cheaper the rent and or buy. There are apartments in Ft Walton, Niceville and Destin as well. Shouldn't be a problem to find something. If interest rates are right your BAH might cover a home purchase. Either way, enjoy the area. Niceville is a good place as well. The base housing office should be able to point you in the right direction and have a list of recommendations as well.
