I am currently less than 3 weeks out from infantry OSUT. Any advice from any infantrymen who have recently gone through (or infantry DS)?

Can you run a 12 min, 2 mile? If not, aim for that. Can you ruck 10 miles with 50 lbs? Aim for that. If you can do those two things, you'll be golden.

Sir, 12 seems pretty fast. Unless infantry has much higher standards compared to the POGs and apft? I think 100 points is only 13 min 2 mile. Or maybe you are just telling him to be over prepared? If that's the case then that makes sense. I'm shipping out in August and want to get to a 14:48 by the time I go to basic so I can start at an 80.

SPC Kole Cordier When I went through, 300 was 11:52 on the apft. But that was 22 years ago, so...
Either way, if he can hit 12 min, 2 mile, he'll be set for success.

Thick skin. Attention to detail and impress the hell out of everybody by doing what you’re supposed to. Nobody likes a loudmouth know it all.
Bring that extra couple toothbrushes, one for teeth, others for cleaning gear.
You don’t need that tobacco, candy or whatever that bad.

Get in shape, especially running and pushups. 7 minute miles, 60 pushups and 70 situps will put you above 80 percent on all events and make your life a lot easier.
Keep the mouth shut and the ears open. The Drills will be very directive at first, basically because about half of your company will barely be able to find their ass with both hands. As you progress, you will hopefully realize that they are there to get you through this mess and will generally be some of the most memorable people you will ever meet. I went through in 1982/1983 and I can still tell you the rank, first and last name of my Drill Sergeants.
Get your affairs in order. You do not need to be worrying about that car payment or ex girl friend for the next 21+ weeks. Focus on what you need to do to accomplish the mission, graduate from OSUT.
Good luck, you didn't pick an easy MOS.
