 I applaud your drive to improve yourself and seeking out great challenges and responsibilities.  I don't remember the names of the programs available but I know there are several.  Go to the education center and talk them about the different commissioning programs available to you.

 First and foremost continue to be a disciplined Airman and maintain your dedication to your career field. Set the example for other's, pursue any educational opportunities you have both professional and 'personal'.  Strive to improve yourself everyday.  If you haven't already, complete your five level CDC's and knock out your EOC.  Seek out increased responsibilities and leadership opportunities.

  Complete your CCAF and continue on towards your Bachelors while you explore your options.

 Go to the Professional Education Center (PEC) and talk to the Career Advisor as well.  Also take any classes they offer for professional development.

 If it's supportable in your unit ask to 'shadow' your Flight CC or Squadron CC for a day.  Get a glimpse into the activities they go through daily.

 I see you are Security Forces and I have seen many troops in that career field not even try because they were told it wasn't an option for Security Forces because of manning.  That's hogwash, so don't let your supervisor/flight chief/superintendent/commander tell you that they won't approve your requests to do something deter you.  In very few cases do they actually have approval/disapproval authority. Almost always though they do get to make a recommendation, so keep that in mind when you are dealing with them.

Not sure if the AF has the same program, but I know the Army has or had the green to gold program that would help with what you are looking to do, I would recommend talking with your higher echelon retention NCO for program and opportunities that could help. I would also recommend you seek out anyone in your area that may have taken the same route other than your brother and ask them for pointers/tips and pros and cons as well to help your route decision and when/how to do it as well.
