Ironic when your date has more hair than you do...

I still have plenty of hair, it just doesn't make it all the way to the top. It falls short of its goal and sprouts in the strangest places: Out of the ears, on top of the ears (I'm beginning to look like a werewolf), back, chest, you name it.

In Vietnam we had a lieutenant who worked his way through college as a barber and had a thriving business. He had his wife send him his kit and he cut hair for $.25. Inasmuch as he could knock out an acceptable flattop in just a couple minutes, those quarters added up pretty quickly. (Don't know what a flattop is? Ask your dad)

We had a problem when he DEROS'd. We picked up the company barber kit from the orderly room and picked through the implements like they were alien tools. We finally decided on a plan. First drink a beer. Then cut each others hair with the stipulation that no one could cut the hair of the person who cut theirs. First, drink more beer. By the time we were done our flattops were listing heavily to either side or front or back. Most ended up with well trimmed heads with a band of slightly longer hair encircling the crown in a serpentine fashion. There was a lot of laughter that night and a few punches thrown. The next day we found a Vietnamese barber who would visit our base camp regularly. To him, $.25 was a fortune.

CPT Durish--I well remember my dad, a green beret, giving us boys flat tops to save a few bucks...he might as well have used a machete.

Yes...but I think females should have to follow the same regulations for grooming and hairstyles.  Fairness, right!?
