How safe or how risky is bungee jumping ? Does an active duty Servicemember need to secure permission to engage in such activity ? Have you bungee jumped ? Would you ?

I'd be afraid the rope would break. I'd prefer to sky-dive. I believe a Service Member should at least tell his Supervisor or battle-buddy so someone knows to check up on her/him later.

Funny story here, years ago out CSM walk by a few mechanics and their CWO working on top of a hemmit truck. She said, "Chief, I think those Soldiers need an ACH" and he respond with, "Sergeant Major, Soldiers jump out of an airplane and you are worried about 6 feet?". She walked away in disgust. Good for him to stand up to her.
