I want to get DSD'd to the school house I think I'm in the big Air Force pool right now. It's like the only thing I want out of my career right now to shape the young minds of the Airmans

MSgt (Join to see) - I really go where ever they need me. I would prefer tech school only because I feel like it would be easier on my relationship(newly wed child on the way) than MTI. I want to do something with instructions though. I've been doing CATM for 2 years and I love dropping knowledge on my students.

Brother I respect that I just got to Lackland to become a MTI. I'm excited but at the same time it's a lot of time taken away from you do to mission requirements brother! Did your leadership put you in for DSD ?

I was vectored in the very first batch of DSD heads back in 2013, I was excited then because they used to actually ask you which SD's you were interested in. So I understand the less amount of folks hype for it now that, that's not necessarily the case

I believe back in my time DSD was referred to as a Special Duty Assignment for which I got to do twice. I was an Air Force Recruiter in the early 80s and a PME Instructor in the 90s. PME Instructor was the best assignment I had during my 20 year career.
