I have a newly married Soldier, his spouses command is trying to force her to move out before she receives BAH. I am told by my COC that they are able to reside in the barrack until they receive BAH. I cannot find this in black and white anywhere and was looking for some help.

It all depends on post policy. The usual time is 14 days following marriage to be cleared from the barracks.

No Soldier should be put on the street. If she has not been compensated she should not be forced unless of course there is a backlog of single Soldiers needing a room. She should see the chaplain.

I was a Bn barracks manager for 4 years. They can't get BAh until they move out. When they clears their barracks room, the barrack nco is supposed to give an eMH prefilled out memo that gives what day they esch cleared the barracks. The espective barracks NCO need to double check that they are already in eMH (enterprise Military Housing - web based software tracking who is in which room which use is required by Installation Management Command). They then put those memos in their BAH packet. This is all provided they are stationed within 50 miles of each other. If more than 50 miles apart, then they each are still entitled to a barracks room but no BAH under the Army Married Coupkes Program. Your installation single soldier housing should he able to pinpoint the regulation or point you in the right direction

SGT (Join to see) when I started in that assignment, I ask that very question. I was told to tell soldier to save up before they get married but housing. You could take them to ACS for an AER loan

SGT (Join to see) - If two soldiers are getting married and they can't afford rent...and utillities then it looks like they are trying to live above their means.....if they failed to plan their life before they were married.....welcome to the hard knocks life.
