Alright well, please save the lectures, and just keep it straight with me. I’ve failed my HT/WT for 2 consecutive months. I’m in abcp. My psg is recommending me for separation. My co is more than likely gonna go through with it, because I have been on profile for 6 months, as well as a Bh profile. If and when the co does initiate the chapter, how long can this process take? My unit is pretty cut and dry, by the book kind of people. I’m not going to fight it. I want out. I also have not passed one acft since basic training. I’ve been in just over a year, including basic.

All depends on how fast the command levels want to move. I've personally had packets take 2+ years to finally process. As for the Discharge type, I've never seen anyone receive less than a General Under Honorable

I appreciate all your answers. I’ve heard many different things , so I guess it’s just riding it out and see what happens next.

I was told yesterday to schedule the med evaluation to see if I have any underlying conditions that may cause weight gain. As far as my knowledge, I don’t. Next step, co would initiate the chapter, according to the AR

I can state from my personal experiences as an NCO/PSG. It use to be fairly easy to chapter a Soldier out for failing Height and Weight. Then it turned into all these steps before actually getting chaptered out.

At company level, Once you failed the H & W, your suppose to be counseled on paper by your CO. Given certain procedures to assist You to make H & W. Extra PT after COB. They have to have you medically screened for any/if underlying conditions that would affect your weight, thyroid for example. Dietician plan. Under a 6 month plan to help with losing 3-7 lbs a month. Since you said that you failed 2 months in a row and been on Bh profile (not sure what that is) falls back to your medical screening. Again, it is suppose to all happen after your first failure, not after 2 months of failing the H & W.

Read your AR 600-9. Educate yourself. Knowledge is power.
