How likely for me to PCS out of Korea to CONUS with 6 months between DEROS and ETS?

My DEROS is April 17 2020, and my ETS is October 2020. I have not receieve my assignment yet. Will I get an assignment soon or will I have to PCS out of Korea? S1 jokingly told me I will be extended here in Korea. What are my options? I would rather extend or reenlist for Fort Polk than stay an additional six months in Korea.

I'm a battalion chaplain on Camp Humphreys. What unit are you with? I know it's hard sometimes to get information specific to your situation. I can try and use my influence to help. Let me know.

You could reenlist right now if there's an assignment you want. Otherwise you'll receive an assignment soon and be required to extend to 6 months past your report date. Your report date will be one or two months after your DEROS. You will not ETS out of Korea unless you sign a declination statement

You aren't going to PCS within 6 months of ETS without an extension.
If you plan to reenlist, choice of station is often an option.
