I got out of army active Duty in April 7th, 2018, and I am in the process of joining the Air Force Reserve because they have a job that I have been really trying to get into and I finally see an opportunity to do so as a Cyber Transport System or Cyber System Operations so I am taking it. I was talking to a Reserve NCO in the army before I got out to see if I could find the same type of Job, he tried to help me out but we never got anywhere with that and my ETS date came through so that was that. The issue is on May 11, 2018 just out of the blue a 1LT from a signal company in Baltimore, MD called me and said "SGT Roche, are you tracking that you have Drill next weekend and you are in my book as 91D". At first, I thought it was my friends from Fort Campbell playing a joke on me, but I went along with it anyway. I answered No Sir I can't be in your book because I ETS out of the military last month on April 7th, that's when he started explaining to me that I popped up on his book last week and I needed to come in to figure this out. Just a little more detail about me, my 1st job when I join the army in Feb 2010 was 91D, I switch job in 2013 during deployment where I transferred to aviation as a 15R (Attack Helicopter Mechanic) which I what I stayed with as my primary MOS until I got out of the military. I did go in and talk to them and their retention NCO whom was a MSGT, he checked my paperwork and couldn't figure out why I would pop up in there unit as being assigned to them. So, He sent an email to a SGM back at Fort Campbell, KY being my last duty station with my DD-214 to figure what's going. Currently I am assigned to the army reserve with no ETS date. Has that ever happen to anyone here, and would anyone please give me some advice about how to proceed next?

The only thing I can think of is that your initial contract was compound contract with Active + Reserve. When you reenlisted past your 8 year mark you met the terms of the Contract.
However, you are not obligated to be in the Reserves right now unless you want to. Whether or not there was a technical glitch that put your name on a roster, that IN NO WAY obligates you to the reserves. Because you never signed a contract, you're not actually in the reserves. If their glitch is preventing you from enlisting into the air national guard, I suggest an email to your representative or Governor explaining that the Army National Guard has fraudulently placed you on their roles. You will quickly be expunged from the roles.
To recap, you do not have to drill. You do not belong to the guard. You are not obligated unless you sign a contract. And if you were injured or killed while drilling you might not even be protected because you're not actually contracted into the reserves.

Just so you understand, you cannot legally be placed into the NG without signing a contract for it. So, you are not obligated to attend any drills. In fact, the first thing the NG should have done is asked for your contract.

Were you or are you on terminal leave? If so, it is likely that you were transferred to active/inactive reserve until final separation. While I cannot be sure, I recommend that you contact Army Miller and have them pull your records. This is something that should be very simple to resolve. Make the call. Thank you for your service.

Just want you to understand that there can be many factors, however, it appears most obvious that you have met your commitment and someone pushed the wrong key on a computer. Follow through I am sure this will be resolved.

Do your separation orders or DD214 state you're going to the reserves?

If you don't want to be in that unit or the reserves tell them to show you a contract. Otherwise you have papers showing you are out.

My separation orders and DD214 did show I was going to the national guard.

I had the opposite problem I was not on their books right away.
