Military service can be hard on a marriage, but its not impossible to have a long and enduring relationship despite the separations and hardships. I'm proud to say that we have two couples in our VFW post who made it happen and I'd love to share their stories with you

The problem with marriage today is it is too easy to give up. Most vows you take in marriage state "for better or worse, for richer or poorer." Marriage is a promise, a covenant by God, but He no longer seems to be a priority in civility these days. You take an oath to defend your country against all enemies foreign and domestic. Those who survive long marriages took an oath to defend their marriage against all evil. Congratulations to all who have endured the highs and lows of living and loving their spouse until they die.

CPT Jack Durish - I asked this very question to my grandparents on their Golden Anniversary. My Grandfather replied "Vodka." Grandma smiled and whispered "Bourbon."

You know COL. I have heard many say that, but quite frankly, I never knew what that meant. I married my wife and next thing I knew, we had been married for decades.
