There is a group of people called the Dive Pirates and what they do is they get together and supply a disabled vet and their buddy with all their dive gear and training. then Every year in June we go to the Cayman Islands. ALL is paid for but due to sensitive info the vets need to get the passport. The food is amazing the people are amazing please feel free to contact me I will put you in touch with the right people. injury dependent thought. we have had a full quad in the water. some with more issues even blind people diving. It worth it an amazing life changing trip. if you want more info please contact me or look into http://www.divepirates.org they are a HUGH supporters of our disabled vets.<br><div class="pta-link-card"><div class="pta-link-card-picture"><img src="http://www.divepirates.org/images/icon-fb.png"></div><div class="pta-link-card-content"><div class="pta-link-card-title"><a target="_blank" href="http://www.divepirates.org">Dive Pirates Foundation | Bringing Adaptive Scuba Divers into the Mainstream Diving Community</a></div><div class="pta-link-card-description"></div></div><div style="clear:both"></div><div class="pta-box-hide"><i class="icon-remove"></i></div></div>

I looked into this and it seems like a great project for any vet even ones with out full disabling issues as well. Thanks for sharing, I think you also look into putting this into the resources section under the Career Corner tab.

Has anyone been to Camp Valor Outdoors in Kingsville, MO? It's a wounded warrior kind of outreach and I am thinking about visiting. They do hunting and fishing, nature walks, four wheeler rides and that sorta fun. I would like to get my recovery group at the VA Honor Annex to go but it is a ways from town so is unlikely they will make the trip.

I wonder if there is any risk reductions for Diabetes like wearing a full face mask. I have hung up my personal diving "career" due to that health condition. I've heard of diabetics continuing to dive but they do so at an increased risk and I personally do not think that possibly drowning from going unconscious due to low blood sugar is worth it.
