The only DD214 I have is from BCT and AIT. How do I go about getting an updated DD214? Currently all I've got showing I served honorably are my separation orders, a certificate, and a NGB 22.

The NGB 22 is the National Guard's DD214. Talk with your state personnel office if you're wanting to receive an updated NGB 22. You will only receive DD214's for IET (BCT & AIT), and deployments. Hope this helps.

As stated the DD 214 is a statement only for active duty service. I have 7 of them so far. One from when I left the regular Army and the rest are from periods of active duty. If you haven't served on active duty since AIT then you won't get one. You can only update a DD 214 if there was an error on it from the period of service. You can update anything after that period of service.

When I clicked on a 'How do I get a dd214' I was sent to a site which requires payment. Why should I have to pay for a government issued form?
