Does anyone know of any opportunities for a deployment? I knew that not too long ago the Army was asking for AD, USAR, and NG soldiers to volunteer as MRAP operators and I was wondering if anyone knew of something in addition to that. Thank you in advance!

My guess is that deployments will be hard to come by at this point. I am in the TN National Guard and my unit is going to be, unless something drastic changes, the last full unit in the state to deploy. I imagine this is similar for many other states as well, if they aren't finished already.

The Reserves and Guard are similar in that you can volunteer to go to other units to deploy, etc. The reason you may be getting scratched is due to what I said in my original post. There are a lot of folks in your shoes who are looking to deploy so getting these spots are going to be more competitive. In my unit, we had a lot more people to volunteer than we had slots to go, so our leadership got to choose the cream of the crop off that list.

The team I deployed with was recently pulled back. Everything is shutting down. Going to be a lot of slick sleevers unless Syria pops off for real or if we have to go back into Iraq.

Check out the following website and apply for the job that you are interested in. Different agencies have vacancies which they need reservist to fill, good luck.
