Write your resume focused on your technical knowledge and not military related. Hiring officials are looking for what skills you bring to the table.

Spot on sir. As a 25B in the National Guard, I have put the years I have been in the MOS, but at interviews I have had to back it up by answering technical questions. Even if you only do IT work one weekend a month, two weeks a year, most employers still appreciate the fact that you have formal IT training via the military, as well as organizational, teamwork and leadership skills.

You can put your AIT school and any other follow on classes you have taken. You can put that you did it part time in the guard. Have you had any deployments or TDYs? If so, put that too. Be honest. Its not 3 straight years of time but they should look positively at the relevant training.
