How do Chaplains wear Branch Insignia on the ASU SS/LS shirt with awards? 670-1 says branch insignia is worn centered over left pocket.

670-1 only states that it is to be worn centered immediately above the left breast pocket, but mentions nothing about whether or not it is worn in lieu of the awards nor does it talk about spacing if worn with awards.

That is curious because Chaplains wear their Branch Insignia right side of the black pullover sweater (over the name plate) instead of DUI/Regimental affiliation. Paragraph 21-12 is specific that they wear it over their left pocket on the Service Shirt. I am trying to remember if I ever saw a chaplain wearing ribbons on a shirt or not.

Yes, they do wear Service Ribbons and the device should be placed 1/2 inch above the top ribbon on the display when the ribbons are worn.
