Hey there. We had a great season. Started the season with a doe on the second day of the bow season, my son got a fork horned (4 pointer) in late September, and I nailed a big 10 point buck about a week ago. Could not ask for a better season for bow hunting. Looks like my buck will make Pop and Young at around 140". What was neat is that my son enlisted in the Navy the day before and I am a Navy vet. We're naming the buck, "The Navy Buck"

This was the first time I got out with a bow in 20 years. New Bow and was ready to rock. I called in a 6 pointer that was young and really spooky. He suddenly departed and a monster 10 pointer came into the clearing, at least his head did. The rest of the body was behind a bunch of bushes. Didn't get a shot but am immensely happy that I even got the opportunity. It is so nice to see them not spooked and running. That and the fact that I got to hunt with my son together. That was the best part of the hunt. Hunting is not always about getting the deer.
