How can I create a competitive Army Flight Warrant Packet?

Greetings,
Currently looking at putting in a packet for Army Flight Warrant and am looking for any and all tips to make my application more competitive. There are the basics (high GT score and high SIFT scores) but am looking to flush out my packet as a whole.
As an E4 with no deployments is there anything that I can do to improve?
My current ETS date is November of 2019. Would I be better off taking until then to improve my marketability in the military and approach my packet within the retention process or even a "street to seat" option?
And no, I haven't approached my leadership with this yet. I dont particularly want to go to them until I have a more concrete plan of action to present them with.
Any and all tips or advise would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance for any and all help.

You should tell your leadership. Part of their responsibility is to develop and support the development of the Soldiers under their charge. If any of them are worth their salt, they will be supportive and may be able to assist in your packet.

I would reach out to the AV CCWO of your compo for pointers. As well as getting with the recruiter on previously approved packets

Roger, in leadership wants to send me to promotion board in a month or two and I'm already communicating with the BN FRG leader on volunteer opportunities.
