How big of a role does a GO memo play in the selection process for the WOC board?

I have traffic violations that require a GO endorsement memo. These violations were 15 years ago. Is this something that will play a huge factor in getting selected?

Warrant boards are notoriously vague. In other promotion and selection boards the boards release AARs that state what they were looking for, what made a candidate stand above the rest, and usually a post board analysis showing what most of the selected people had in common. As far as I'm aware, the warrant selection boards do not publish this information. You are simply rated against your peers who are applying as well.
That being said, there are two types of requirements when applying to boards, check the block and graded. A check the block requirement is one that you must meet and exceeding it doesn't help. Having a 110 GT is a check the block requirement. If you have. A 150 GT you aren't any more competitive than someone with a 111. Having a Bachelor Degree is a check the block requirement for OCS and the type of degree doesn't make you any more competitive than another. GPA is a graded requirement and having a higher GPA will make you more competitive than your peers.
I am pretty certain that having a GO endorsement for traffic violations is a check the block requirement and is not weighted into your final score on the OML. The board knows that your average Soldier does not have a GO on hand and that the GO writing the evaluation is just writing one at the request of your chain of command endorsing you.

In my experience It depends on the actual citation and the cut. If competition is tough, they may come into play.

It is hard to say. Really as we start preparing for cuts boards will get more strict. It also plays on how many warrants your field is looking to attain. In the end the best way to find out is to try.
