Hello everyone,
I understand that composite or line scores are used to determine vocational aptitude to be trained for specific jobs.
Since it is very important to understand how these scores are computed so a candidate can effectively target study, how are they calculated especially for the Human Resources Specialties both for the US Army and the Airforce?

It's really not secret. This gives the basics of the composite scores. As an example, a 42A need a GT score of 100 and a CL score of 90. GT is a combination of Arithmetic and Verbal Expression. This will give you how that breaks down. https://www.operationmilitarykids.org/asvab-scores-and-the-military-jobs-that-qualify/#army-asvab-scores

Just one further comment. Your line scores are not a hard grade like a college test, it is how you rank among the people that have taken the test. So if you get a 70 on Word Knowledge, you scored better than 70% of the people testing.
