Hi all, I enlisted in the Army in 1/75 and discharged in 1/77. After basic and AIT I wasa sent to Germany for my tour of duty. Sometime during the Bill Clinton presidency I received a letter telling me I was eligible for a service ribbon. I can't find the letter or remember what the ribbon was. Can anyone help or give advice?

Are you sure it was a ribbon? The only time they sent out letters like that to mention eligibility was when they created the Cold War Certificate. It sounds like that's what you're talking about.
You would just send your substantiation documents to the below address:
Commander, USAHRC
Cold War Recognition Program
ATTN: AHRC-PDP-A, Dept 480
1600 Spearhead Division Avenue
Fort Knox, KY 40122-5408
You may email your application to the [login to see] .
An acceptable supporting document includes any official government or military document that contains the recipient's name, Social Security Number or Military Service Number or Foreign Service Number, and a date showing at least one day of service during the Cold War era (2 September 1945 to 26 December 1991).
DISCLAIMER: I don't believe the program is still active anymore.

Sorry, I know. My tour there was 19 months. I served as an artillery surveyor in the 6th btn 9th FA in Giessen Germany. That unit has since been disbanded. Served at Rivers Barracks, also stood watch (rotating assignment) for security at the local nuc. warhead site. Any other info I can give? Thanks
