I just mentioned this in another post, but I thought it deserved it's own thread.

Have you used the the "network" you have cultivated here on RallyPoint professionally? I am using professional in a pretty loose way, so don't get two wrapped around the axle that term. I will give you an example of what I really mean.

NCO's job's are to get the right answer. It isn't to have all the answers. When an NCO doesn't know the right answer, often it is a matter of hitting the books, using some google fu for a reg, or reaching out to a SME.

Now let me bring this all back to RP. On more then one occasion I was able to tag a SME that I know from no where other than RP in a thread that quickly and more importantly CORRECTLY got the SM the answer the needed. These have been SM's members from multiple branches with SME's from multiple branches! That is the POWER of RP and APPLYING a network.

On to something personal, I have posted about my grandfather's issues, a member of RP stepped up, being a SME in that particular area and has helped immensely.

So the question is this: Have you use the RP network vs have you used RP to network.

Tell your story!

I have used RP for a couple things.... I have attempted to use it to gain knowledge and insight on post military employment, resume, LinkedIn review, etc. I have also started to try gleaning information about the area that I am looking to retire to...based on where I see people are from. (this method has been a bit slower and I may get better answers if I just post the damn question for all to see!!) ;-)

Maj Chris Nelson, jump in with two feet! When looking towards that post retirement, dragging your feet can cost you long term!
