Hey everybody, quick stupid question just because i have to see this commercial over and over at work and it bugs me each time... has anyone else seen this newer goldstarpins.org commercial? the one where it has the wife talking in the grocery store and the kid talking to his friend? and if you have does it bother you when the uniformed service-member salutes the kid? I'm all for identifying and respecting gold star families but it just bugs me each time i see the kid saluted. just curious...

Interesting question. Marines take adherence to strict saluting protocols far more seriously than the other branches of service... which may explain why it bothers you more than some. I think the commercial was just trying to show a strong level of respect with just a few seconds of air time. I don't think they thought through the implications.

good point... it is a little disconcerting when you think about how much the Marines do brainwash their own haha
