According to a report in the Washington Blade and then republished in the British media, the DOD is set to announce as early as next week a major revision to it's Equal Opportunity Policy that will include sexual orientation as a Protected Class. What do you think, RP? Is granting Protected Class status conducive to maintaining good order and discipline in a fair and equitable manner for all Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, Marines, and Coast Guard personnel or is it giving a certain class of personnel more protections than others?

Yes, this is reasonable and fair; there is still too much homophobia within the Military, even at the highest levels of leadership.

No, such a policy is effectively granting a certain category of Service Members more legal protections than others, and therefore undercuts the UCMJ and the premise that all Service Members are treated equally.

Yes, but only for a limited period of time (5-10 years) until the stigma associated with being gay, lesbian, or bisexual has declined within the Armed Forces.

No, if gays, lesbians, and bisexuals must be regarded as a Protected Class within the Military it only proves their lifestyle is not conducive to good order and discipline. Reinstate the ban on gays in the Military.

Of course. Homosexuals have been serving proudly since the first gay caveman grabbed a club and joined the ranks, and have contributed in every single conflict we've ever participated in. It only makes sense to stop pretending otherwise

Who cares I would imagine less homosexuals are attracted to me than females and i would assume thats not many either so I don't flatter myself with this physique lol
