The site should fix this question being mandatory if Army Reserve is also ticked, because it isn't relevant at that point.
I'm reassignable—immediately.
Also it changes the search patterns for Career Corner if I put down that my reassignment date is Feb 2014, then people will see me in this position and think it's automatically open.

You should put the date down that you expect to be assigned to a new position.
If you intend to stay in the same position for the remainder of your career, you should down your estimated retirement date. Otherwise, everybody should have at least a rough estimate on when they should expect to progress to their next assignment. If your command has not discussed this with, you should ask them about career progression plans.

Thank you, sir.
I haven't actually had any sort of discussion like that with anyone since I've been in the military. I always felt that I was placed and that was that.
My MOS change just happened to be a 'right place, right time' scenario during an RST.

You can't always get whatever you want, but especially as you become an NCO, you have to be aware and involved in your own career planning. Good luck, and keep us posted! Don't let anyone tell you your career is not your business. Only you manage your own career.

See your retention NCO he/she should have a listing of openings in the area for 92A. Then put in paperwork to be reassigned for career progression.

I appreciate that, SFC. I'll ask him on Wednesday. I only thought/knew that he was there to keep people in.
