Dusty Rhodes, a.k.a. The American Dream, died this month. How did I miss that? Now I feel really old. Robin Williams' death several months ago shocked me. Leonard Nimoy's passing saddened me. But this - Dusty, leaves me speechless. My brothers and grew up watching wrestling as kids and then wrestle each other. The American Dream has died.

Well, as I look at the news the last two weeks in the nation, this explains alot.

Yes, sadly Virgil Riley Runnels Jr. AKA Dusty Rhodes, the "American Dream", passed on June 11th at the age of 69.

I also remember watching Dusty in Atlanta during the days of the NWA (National Wrestling Alliance) as his signature lisp and sweet style came through to his good friend, and commentator Gordon Solie, "Gordon 'Tholie', the Dream is here!! The man with the power to 'thweet ' to be 'thower'. Yeah, Baby !!"

Dusty, you will be missed.

Yeah, this happened a couple of weeks ago. He was honored prior to start of the last PPV.
