Hello all,
I am currently enlisted in the ARMY, in my 1st month of AIT and about to receive my orders for my first duty station. I am looking to be stationed close to my spouse and dependents. My spouse is currently in the Marine corps, I know the army has the Army couples program but I noticed I'm not eligible for the program since he is a different service. I've tried asking my drill sergeants but they recommended me here since they haven't been in this situation. If anyone has experience please let me know what I can do. thank you!

I dealt with a similar situation, with Army and Air Force. Branch is the only person that can help but it will not be easy and you not likely be close enough for the two of you to live together as we don’t have a lot of bases close to the Marines. Considering he is already in and probably has established some rapport with the people that handle his assignment he may try to get closer to you after you are assigned. Good luck this will be an arduous journey

There are only a handful of assignments that you and him could be close to each other. The Army does not have to send you near your Marine spouse and you are needs of the army for your first assignment

The cold reality is you will likely not be assigned in the same area as the married couples programs are generally when in the same branch and we still do not play well with other branches. Your drills probably punted here you because the reality is not something fun to tell folks. If later you find that I am wrong, please look me up here or via outlook and tell me as with this I would love to be wrong. I also need to be giving sound advise.
