I have had the same preferences on ASK since the Army started "using it" and I have never been stationed at one of those preferences...just saying.

No. It was placed there in order to lull the Soldier a false sense of security in choosing their assignment. They want to you to feel like you get some choice when in reality I don't think any assignment officer at HRC has ever looked at ASK in determining where to place a Soldier.

Well they look at it. But tell you that you can't have the job you volunteered for because the Army needs you somewhere else.
