Not too worried about the new PT test, just a bit confused on how its being implemented. As of now at osut we've been told once we get inserted to whatever company we'll do the regular Pt test and the new one at the end. How does the grading go if they're still "testing" it before 2020's fiscal year starts ?

I’m a drill here at Benning. I cant speak for other units, however the POI has changed for my unit. So I’m order to graduate BCT you have to pass the ACFT in the gold standards. We are still
Teaching the APFT however it is only for familiarization.
The grading is for the ACFT as long as you pass the Gold standards yoh will pass BCT. Then again things always change. But as of right now that is how my unit is implementing the ACFT in the BCT. Best of luck. In all honesty, the ACFT is super easy to pass. You will do great.

The leg tuck is about rhythm more than strength to me. Get a good rhythm and bounce going and you should pump them out. I did 26MAJ (Join to see)

I was at a school and so they were very strict about form. Start at a dead hang legs completely down then up in controlled manner no swinging of body allowed and both knees touching both elbows then controlled lowering down to complete hang and that was 1 rep then again for a second rep. If you did even a little swing for momentum they did not count it. SSG (Join to see)

I don't believe the Army has released the start date for ACFT to become the record test other than not later than October 2020. Since they are requiring everyone to take one not for ACFT starting in October 2019 it is possible depending on the results from those test for test for the Army to start as early as April 2020. It is also possible, depending on the results from the not for record tests for the Army to slide the record testings date past October 2020 while they revamp either the test or the scoring.

It is a graduation requirement for basic/AIT/OSUT, etc as of 1 OCT. That could change since they released that the ACFT standards won't be finalized for another five years at the least though. Who knows?
