Does anyone know of anyone who had their firearms seized?

So I just saw on Fox News this "Red Flag" states where authorities can seize firearms if they believe a person is a threat to themselves or the public. Does anyone know of anyone that this has happened to, I live in one the Red Flag states. I can't wait to move to Texas or Cali(also a red flag state probably not moving there now).

In Cali it depends on the county you move to Sgt Adrian Jones. For example the sheriff of my town refuses to disarm his citizens. Most of norther California Counties excise this rule. I’m sure that is also what applies in other red flag states. Hope that helps.

Yeah, it would be terrible to live in a state where the authorities would have been able to seize the weapons from the FL school shooter based on all the red flags he exhibited before he actually used them. The laws also provide for quick hearings and due process. It's much better to live in a state where authorities have no ability to seize weapons until after they are used. /Sarcasm

MSgt Steve Sweeney - What LTC Matthews seems to be suggesting is that the Government start infringing on citizens rights before they commit any crimes. THAT is what I don't trust them to do. Waging war IS what governments do and ours is pretty good at it so yes, I trust them a lot more in that area. Seeing the future is not something anyone does well. Least of all Washington D.C.

When politicians enforce the law you can expect abuse on either side. That is what makes people afraid of such laws. Federal law already in place to prevent the wrong people from legally buying guns. But one does not have to follow the law and law enforcement are seen as the bad guys (and this affects how they sometimes can do their job).

MSgt Steve Sweeney - I'm actually glad you mentioned that. I really didn't know where you were going with this. I actually do believe that my human rights come from God. However, those don't include the 2nd Amendment per se. I also believe that governments are established by God and that they are there to punish evil (which may very well include war). Romans 13:4 says "They [the authorities] are God’s servants, sent for the very purpose of punishing those who do what is wrong". They should not be punishing those that don't do wrong which is what I believe disarming us (because of the crimes of others) would be.
But the Bible also says we must submit to the government because all authority comes from God. So that means, if the gov't comes for my guns, I should give them up. So back to your question of whether or not I trust the government, it really doesn't matter. On some matters yes, on others, no. But according to the Bible, I must do what they tell me to do as long as it doesn't violate God's pre-established law.
