I’m prior service and I’m about to reclass to one of those MOS in the Reserves and my recruiter told me that I have 24 months to complete the AIT. He said the fist 6 months can be split in 2 which would be 3 months and then another 3 months later on. Is that possible?

68C and 68K are two phase MOS schools. Each had their own length of first and second phase. The first phase is didactic and the second is hands on. If you want to see the length of the courses then look on the ATRRS course catalog

That doesn’t sound right. I never have heard or seen a 68K have a “split training” for phase I or II. It’s 6 months of in-school training at AMEDD (Fort Sam Houston), then an additional 6 months at a separate training site for your clinical rotations (although BAMC is a training site as well). No breaks between phases I and II aside from maybe exodus, if your training is during that time frame. Aside from that, I would personally recommend 68K out of the two. Although both are extremely low density, so if you plan on making a career out of the military it will be difficult to get promoted, to say the least. As a 68K you will have the opportunity to become accredited through ASCP as an MLT. This along with some experience in the lab will easily land you a $25-$30 an hour in the civilian sector working in a laboratory. The same can not be said for 68C, even if you get your certification as an LPN. Ultimately it will be up to you.

With 68c school its one and done, no splitting it up since its already a 13 month course.

So it has to be 6 months phase 1 and 6 months phase two? Both done in one training no splitting?

PVT (Join to see) phase 1 68C is 2-3 months, phase 2 is the remaining 9-10 months. There is a 1-2 week gap between phase 1 and 2 for PCS to phase 2 site. But they are completed concurrently. As the training nco i only submit soldiers for phase 1, the schoolhouse takes care of where they go next and when.
