Does anyone know how the Old Guard assemble (build) their full size medals?

MSG, do you have an easy way of explaining how they are built? I bought a new set of anodized medals, but they certainly don't look like yours. So, I assume they are all custom built and glued to a backing of some sort? And all the medals are 3 1/4 inches from the top of the ribbon to the bottom of the medal? So, the ribbon length may differ depending on size of medal.

SFC,
It is a very lengthy process and it is somewhat intricate. It certainly is not difficult, but there are a few steps. This conversation would be better had over the phone. Send me a private message and I will give you my office line. You can call me tomorrow and I will explain it fully.

Did you ever get a good answer on this? I am trying to get my medals together for a wedding. I tried to slide onto a ribbon bar....is was like putting toothpaste back in the tube. is it best to use a flat bar rather than the formed one. I have 5 medals ; thinking two rows, two up, then three below. When removing the pin on clip, everything was fine....but to slip it on the new bar is real tough keeping things straight.
